The psychology of mediocrity: Instagram (NY Times)

Beyond envy, beyond mediocre prefabricated photos: “My Instagram feed, in comparison, is one amazing photo after another” she says, without a trace of irony. What does it take to have “leaves shipped in from out of state, just so the kids could jump in them” to get those perfect shots?

“all too aware of the obnoxious people on Instagram, and she takes care not to be one of them”. Too late.
