China: Where “harmony” means “repression”

Doublespeak alive and well on the Internet.

“Officials are aware, of course, of its barbed meaning on the Internet… but they can hardly ban it, because to do so would outlaw the ‘harmonious society’ they are plugging. Harmony has been hijacked by the public.

The art of inefficiency: Citizens need to learn another language to express their views. If the Politburo cannot understand representation as a right, perhaps they can see it as a less costly alternative to all the snooping? China still on course to a mild collision.
